Ending the Year with a New Beginning
It’s been awhile since I last posted here and I know I’ve been remiss about keeping this site updated as the year ended, but I’m hoping you’ll agree with me when I say that I had a good excuse.
After 12 years together, my wife and I ended 2011 by finally getting married on our 12th anniversary last Dec. 9. They say good things come to those who wait and I personally don’t think we could have chosen a better time in our lives to finally make this covenant in the eyes of our friends, our family, the Church and God.
It may have been 12 years in the making, but when the day finally came it truly was the most amazing day for the girl of my dreams to become the rest of my life.
The past year was truly an awesome year full of joyful surprises and countless blessings. From the moment we got engaged to the day we got married, we were showered with love, guidance, support and blessings from our friends, our families and the Lord. Thanks to the generosity of our family, friends, sponsors and suppliers and the wonderful hand of God, a celebration that we never could have imagined we would be able to afford slowly came together as things fell into place one after the other.
Even now, as my wife and I celebrate our first “monthsary” as a married couple, I can’t help but look back in amazement at how truly perfect our wedding day ended up to be. Not everything may have turned out as planned and there may have been a few hiccups at points throughout the day, but in the end… it was perfect.
It was perfect and it couldn’t have happened without the help and generosity of:
- Our parents, who gave much too much of their time, energy and money for our day,
- Karen’s sister, who was her girl Friday and acting wedding coordinator,
- my brothers, who were the most attentive and supportive best men anyone could ask for,
- Karen’s brothers, who did everything they could to support our needs with their respective businesses, Quality Prints and Pixel 800,
- Karen’s in-laws and her sister’s boyfriend, who provided so much of their time and talents to help us,
- our friends, who gave us all the moral support, advice and assistance that we needed as we prepared for our wedding,
- our Godparents, who blessed us with their prayers, words of wisdom and guidance, and
- our relatives, who surprised us with so much unexpected help and encouragement.
It was perfect and it couldn’t have been so without the generosity, dedication, professionalism, and truly amazing work of:
- Our photographers, Toto Villaruel, Hyds Valencia and Kimberly Lao Lim of Imagine Nation Photography,
- our videographers, Cedrick Tabares, Arjay Bagay and Eriq Dacudao, and editor, Mike Borromeo of Wang Videography,
- our coordinators, Cathy Ebuen and her team from Events Embassy,
- our events manager, Tina Offemaria of The Bellevue Manila,
- Karen’s designer, Let-Let Veloso, and my family’s haberdasher, Nomer’s,
- our friends from Flipped Manila, and last but definitely not least,
- the good people of Flower Farm
It was perfect because God made it so.
